Indian Welding Society (IWS) and Annamalai University entered into an MOU to offer two diploma courses in welding through Distance Learning Programme.
The MOU signed by Shri B Pattabhiraman, President (IWS) and Dr. Rathinasabapathy, Registrar, Annamalai University facilitates both the institutions to jointly offer the industry oriented Diploma in Welding Engineering and Diploma in Welding Inspection. Each course is of one-year duration.
The diploma in welding engineering course will be useful to the production supervisors and engineers, where as the other course will be useful for weld designers and inspectors.

in association with Department of Manufacturing Engineering, Annamalai University and
Welding Research Insitute, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, Tiruchirappalli.

The International Welding Symposium (IWS 2k10) alongwith "International Workshop on Thermal Spraying" and Interanational Trade Fair "Schweissen and Schneiden exhibition" will be conducted by Indian Welding Society in association with Wedlding Research Institute, India, DVS German Welding Society, Asian Welding Federation, MESSE ESSEN, MESSE Dusseldorf India during February 10-12 at Mumbai. IWS Southern Zone in association with IIM Thiruchirappalli Chapter is organizing a two day workshop on Manufacturing Technology - Realms Ahead (ManTRA-2k9) on 7th and 8th September 2009 at the MD Auditorium, BHEL Complex, Tiruchirappalli.
